McDonald Signs with U.S. AmPro Racing

Danielle McDonald will base herself out of the U.S. for her 2025 season, as the 18-year-old signs with the Yamaha backed AM Pro Off Road Team. McDonald made several trips to the U.S. in 2024 and her efforts were rewarded with a contract for the 2025 season, where she will contest the AMA GNCC Championship in the Women’s division on board the YZ250FX.

The season start has been slow-burn for McDonald, as a knee injury suffered before the ISDE in October last year required a full knee reconstruction. But in a testament to her grit and determination, McDonald completed the ISDE and helped the Australian team to finish on the podium. McDonald’s now landed in the U.S., ready to get herself accustomed to a new team and surroundings.

McDonald leaves Australia as a highly credentialed rider, having won national championships in Junior MX and Off-Road, as well as the Women’s Off-Road division and a podium in the 2024 Women’s ProMX Championship.

Danielle McDonald:
“I am absolutely thrilled to be joining the AmPro Yamaha Racing team this year. It has always been a big dream of mine to race full-time in the U.S. and to finally be here feels surreal. I am extremely excited about the upcoming season and can’t wait to start racing!”

Jess Gardiner:
“It’s been a pleasure to witnesses and help guide Danielle’s career over the past few seasons and watch her grow into a mature and world class rider. We couldn’t be more excited for her and know she will use the same traits she used for success in Australia to drive her in the USA.”
