Levi Sherwood: 21 Questions

After a 2013 season he would rather forget, Levi Sherwood entered the 2014 season with the thought of having fun on his bike again. After convincingly winning the NZ Farm Jam and the first stop of the Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour in Madrid, it looks like this method seems to work for the 22-year-old from Palmy, New Zealand. Transmoto‘s Johnny Bonnar hit him up with 21 questions before he heads off to Osaka, Japan for the second stop of this year’s series.

1. Your most awkward moment in the last three months?

Well the word awkward throws this question out because I don’t care enough to feel awkward.

2. If you had to wear a fluro pink shirt or tight leather pants, what would you wear and why?

I would take the pink shirt. It’s not really a big deal compared to the pants.

3. You have a $10 win on the pokies. Do you double up and gamble or take the cash?

Definitely double up on it, eh. It’s only 10 bucks so you may as well keep going, man.

4. The selfie… You guilty of posting them at all? What are your thoughts on them?

Nah, I’m not guilty of the selfie, bro. Just not keen on it.

5. Black plastics… Can they work or are they for the OG Mulisha only?

They work. Nowadays everyone does a mix of colored plastics which looks quite good.

6. Do you wear a watch? If so, what is it? If no, why not?

I just wear Swatch watches.

7. Boxers, briefs, weird boy-short things or commando? And why?

Briefs. I don’t even know why I need to answer why I choose them, because it’s just the way to go.

8. Any bad tattoos we should know about? How’d it come about?

Nah, no tattoos, eh. Just not really my thing.

9. What’s your regular hair cut? What do you ask for when you sit in the chair?

At the moment it’s a mullet, so I just ask the missus for a mullet.

10. Have there been any girls that have slept with you purely because you’re a professional FMX rider? If so, provide some details?
No…

11. If you had to, could you clean your air filter, change your oil and do a couple of tyres on your bike? How long would it take?
Yeah man, not long. The tyres could take a little while. I work on my bike all the time so it’s not really a big deal.

12. Coupla bourbons or coupla beers?

A couple of beers, thanks. I don’t really like bourbon. But if I had a choice it would be Appleton Estate rum, that is my go-to drink.

13. Tight jeans… Can you rock ’em?
Not really tight, I just like a standard fit, but I guess all jeans are kind of skinny now.

14. Most embarrassing photo that’s ever been captured of you… Give us the scoop.
Ohhh there are heaps! After-party photos can be bad but it is what it is so I am not really to embarrassed about them.

15. If you could travel on tour and room with the same person at every stop, who would you most like to room with and who would you least like to room with? And why?

There are a few people I would be quite happy to room with but I would probably choose Todd Potter. We have similar interests and he is easy to get along with. There are a few people I wouldn’t want to room with but I am not saying names!

16. What other sports did you play as a kid or do now? Are you any good at them?
Nah, I just raced motocross as a kid and then started riding FMX.

17. Can you handle the heat in the kitchen? If so, what’s your signature dish?
I am no chef but I can make it work. My signature dish would be steak or burgers. Pretty basic.

18. High waisted pants on girls… A turn-on or a turn-off?

Ohhh, nah they are yuck, eh. Definitely a turn-off.

19. Rock, metal, rap or dance?

Rock. I listen to a lot of everything but rock is what I always go back to.
