KOREY MCMAHON TO LEAD GASGAS OFF-ROAD PROGRAM
Young Australian racer, Korey McMahon, will continue with GASGAS in 2023, set to race in a number of events including the AORC, Australian 4-Day Enduro (A4DE), Hattah Desert Race, Finke Desert Race and GNCC Australia races.
McMahon is a true jack-of-all-trades, finishing a solid second in class in the 2022 AORC E1 class point-standings, finishing a fine fourth outright and top of the 450cc class onboard his MC 450F at the Finke Desert Race, and was a member of Team Australia’s third-placed Junior World Trophy Team at the International Six Days Enduro (ISDE). In between his off-road success, McMahon also raced an array of Transmoto events and ProMX rounds.
Korey McMahon:
“I’m really comfortable onboard the GASGAS now, it was my first year back on the 250 last year, so I feel like we’ve learnt a little bit more about the bike and how the set-up works. It’s been a good transition though and I feel like we will enter this year even better prepared! I’m excited to be back with GASGAS for another season, I have been with the brand for a few years now, working with the same people and am pumped for the year to come!”
Kyle Blunden (KTM Group Australia Motorsport Manager):
“When we first introduced GASGAS to the off-road market it was very exciting for the entire company. The bold, fun and exciting brand was a great addition to the segment and now entering our third year in the Australian Off-Road Championship with Korey McMahon leading the charge, we are really excited to be competing for success. Korey is an amazing young rider with a huge heart and brilliant support crew behind him. He loves nothing more than riding his GASGAS regardless of the discipline and really showcases what the brand is all about. I can’t wait to see what Korey can do throughout this year’s Australian Off-Road Championship.”
The first race of McMahon’s 2023 season is the AORC season-opener scheduled for Mendooran, NSW, between 25-26 March, where he will continue in E1 with the firm target of achieving championship success.
