King & Queen of MX: $10K on Offer

Motorcycling NSW has confirmed that not only will a Queen of MX be crowned alongside the Bikebiz King of MX, but that the fastest women on two wheels will also be racing for a winner-takes-all $10,000 prize purse at the NSW State Titles Final in Coonabarabran.
“Motorcycling really is for everyone,” said Tim Sanford, MNSW President. “For too long, prize money has been low considering the dedication required to win at the highest level, regardless of gender And so, in developing the King of MX concept, we unanimously felt the only course of action was to offer the Queen of MX the same $10,000 for 10 minutes and fall in line with other progressive sports and society in general.”

With three of the qualifiers having already been run, it’s becoming clear that Australia’s fastest female racers are motivated to take out the new Queen of MX crown with Jess Moore, Meghan Rutledge and Tori Dare all racing and gaining a ‘golden ticket’ to the final in Coonabarabran. Meanwhile, other racers from as far as Western Australia are expressing interest in contesting the event, and with three more qualifiers run, there are plenty of chances for more girls to get out there and race for their chance at the $10,000 feature-race prize.

Queen of MX

The top 40 Senior women will compete in a 10-minute, winner-takes-all, All Powers race at the iconic Goanna Tracks complex with $10,000 up for grabs.
Quite simply, this is the biggest race in Australia for women on two wheels – The Queen of MX.

King, Prince & Princess of MX

The King of MX feature race is the richest motocross race in Australia, and will consist of the top Senior racers from every class, so everyone from the Pros right through to the C-graders and Vets who get through will be in with a chance to take home the $10,000 prize. And with the moto only 10 minutes long, everyone has a chance at taking home the crown.
For the up and coming generation (under 16), the top riders of each class will be pitted against each other in their own sprint race to determine the Prince and Princess of MX.

How to Enter:

Racers need to enter one of the six qualifier events (see schedule below for remaining dates) where the top five or six finishers in each class earn their ‘golden ticket’ to the final. Once a rider has qualified, they can still ride the other qualifier events but they can’t win another golden ticket, so that gives even more riders a chance to qualify. At the final, State Title Champions will be decided over three motos for each class, and some will also earn a spot in the King, Queen, Prince or Princess of MX feature races.
