Nestled amidst the majestic Dolomite mountains and the serene waters of Lake Garda, the renowned Il Ciclamino track in Trentino set the stage for the thrilling fourth round of the 2024 FIM Motocross World Championship. It was a weekend of tenacity for Nestaan Husqvarna Factory Racing team’s Kay de Wolf, marked by stellar performances and crucial championship points.

Kay de Wolf kicked off the weekend by securing sixth place in qualifying, positioning himself well for race day. In the first moto, he showcased his prowess by swiftly ascending to second place from third at the start, eventually seizing the lead and dominating the race to clinch victory with a comfortable margin.

The second race posed a challenge as Kay found himself caught in a multi-rider crash, dropping to 31st place early on. Undeterred, he mounted a remarkable comeback, slicing through the field with blistering pace and determination. Despite a minor setback, he fought his way back to an impressive eighth-place finish, maintaining his championship lead.

“It was an OK weekend—I lost three points in the championship, but overall, I am pretty happy with my riding throughout the weekend. In the first moto, I had a really good flow and rhythm, and just did my own thing! It was a fun race. Then, in the second moto, there was a crash in the first turn, which put me back to last, but I managed to fight my way back to eighth. The riding was amazing in the second moto, so I have lots of positives to take from the weekend, and I’m really looking forward to the next race in Portugal.”
