Josh Strang: Full Gas Sprint Champion

8 years ago | Words: Husqvarna Motorcycles Australia

The final round of the Full Gas Sprint Enduro series took place this past weekend at Hidden Valley Golf Course in Glen Daniel, West Virginia. The cross-test format consisted of a grass loop and wooded enduro loop. Rain on Friday caused slippery and technical conditions for Saturday, but near perfect dirt for Sunday’s racing. Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Josh Strang came into this round only two-points behind the leader for championship points. He got a great start off the line, which set his pace for the remainder of the day. Strang finished in the top spot for four out of the six tests, taking the overall win for day one.

After gaining the max points for Saturday, Strang had to ride a conservative and finish third or better to take home the championship. He felt the pressure but was able to push through the tests with consistent second place finishes and the last lap in fifth. This put him finishing in second for the day, but with enough overall points to win the 2018 Full Gas Sprint Enduro Championship!

“For this final round, I came in only two points behind the leader for the overall. I was feeling the pressure throughout the two days but was able to secure the overall championship! It feels great and I would like to thank the entire Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing team and my entire family!” Said Josh Strang.
