HRC HONDA’S TIM GAJSER INJURED

Only days after Honda HRC announced Tim Gajser and Ruben Fernandez as their 2023 MXGP riders, five-time World Champion Gajser has been injured.

Gajser had a crash in the second moto at the Italian International Championship in Arco di Trento, breaking his right femur. The injury has required surgery to repair, and his return is yet to be determined.

Gasjer’s spectacular crash.

Ruben Fernandez will now lead the Honda HRC charge into the 2023 FIM World Motocross Championship. After a promising MX2 campaign in 2022, Fernandez will move to the MXGP class with high hopes of success.

“It’s a new team for me, but it feels familiar and that has made things a lot easier. This winter has been really good and I’m in a solid place, and I feel like I can show everyone what I can do, right at the very first round. I learnt a lot from last year and I’m always trying to improve, so I know that consistency is just as important as speed and that’s what I’ll be aiming to achieve. The Honda CRF450R is a great machine and I’m comfortable on it, having rode it last year as well and I know I couldn’t have a better team behind me, to help improve the bike and make my performances better. I really can’t wait until the season begins!” Finishes Fernandez.

The World Motocross Championship fires into life on March 12th in Argentina, sadly without the Jeffrey Herlings vs Tim Gajser showdown.
