Check out the highlights from the 2016 edition of the Monster Energy Cup (MEC), held at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas on October 15.
Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Eli Tomac became the sixth unique winner of the six-year-old event, going 2-1-4 to take home a cool $100,000. Red Bull KTM’s Ryan Dungey finished just one point behind Tomac, while his teammate, Marvin Musquin, rounded out the podium. Team Honda HRC’s Ken Roczen won the first Main Event and was on track to score the “Monster Million” but went over the bars whilst leading Tomac with four laps to go in the second race, finishing 21st. The 2015 MEC winner and 2016 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Champion rebounded in the third moto to score the win, but was only able to finish in seventh Overall.
