GET SERIOUS, WITH RYAN DUNGEY

4 years ago | Words: Andy Wigan | Photos: KTM Images

When you’re launching a new-generation range of motocross bikes, who are you going to call on to help with the job? How about a guy who won your brand its first premier-class AMA MX championship shortly after he signed with the brand back in 2012? The same guy won your brand it first ever AMA 450SX Main event, followed by three AMA 450SX Championship titles? The same straight-talking, hard-working athlete who’s just come back from five seasons of retirement, jumped aboard your just-released 450SX-F model and has been consistently mixing it with the top five in year’s AMA Outdoor nationals?

If you hadn’t already guessed, we are of course speaking about KTM and Ryan Dungey, and the Austrian brand’s astute decision to bring RD5 on board for a new, short video series (called ‘Get Serious with Dungey’), which links KTM’s innovative 2023 SX line-up of dirt bike with some of the experiences, stories and tips provided by the four-time AMA SX and three-time AMA Pro MX premier-class champion.

In Episode 1, Dungey not only highlights the key upgrades and developments across the 2023 KTM SX range, but also explains why certain elements – such as the new chassis concept, latest generation of WP Suspension equipment, and refined ergonomics – are such key requirements for riders.

It’s a cool and very effective way of bringing to life the upgrades found on KTM’s 2023 MX bike range and understanding how those changes translate into better rider feel and overall performance. Check it out…
