FMX Insider No.29: Showtime FMX

Every kid loves going to Movie World on the Gold Coast and getting to meet Batman and Bugs Bunny – who wouldn’t? Watching a world-class FMX show with some of Australia’s top riders on the same day leads to some next-level fun. Since the start of this year, freestyle motocross team ‘Showtime FMX’ has been handling everything to do with action sports at Movie World. Their shows include FMX, drift Utes and two-wheeling cars.

The Movie World gig started back in 2009 when Showtime FMX performed for a special event. In early 2013, Showtime FMX Manager, Gary Reid, started planning a new show format. The Showtime Team now performs at Movie World every day except for Christmas day and Anzac day – two times a day and three times during holidays.

The Showtime Movie World show rider line-up consists of Brenton Dragger, Sam Duncanson, Aaron Guthrie, Corey Creed, Topdog, Robbie Marshall and Brad Burch. The riders feature in the shows in between commitments with other Showtime FMX traveling shows and perform all types of FMX tricks including a vast range of Flip tricks.

Recently, friend of Transmoto, Jade ‘Foggo’ Gale (@jadegalephoto on Instagram) ventured out to Movie World for a catch-up with Gary and the boys from Showtime FMX in between their new Hollywood Stunt Driver 2 show. “It was great to have Foggo come for the photo shoot, he has been a good friend of mine since the start,” said Gary. “We have done a lot together over the years so it was great to show him what we do at Movie World.”

The Movie World stadium caters for 2000 people, with 85% of those seats filled for every show – which is a clear indication of just how popular and successful this show is. It’s a must see show for your next Movie World visit!
