EAST COAST MX RD5 RESULTS

The final round of the East Coast MX Series was held in Wollongong on August 22 and 23 to decide the 2015 champions. The weather was bright and sunny for the Juniors and looked a little ominous for the Senior race day, but competition went ahead anyway. With Championships on the line there was happiness for some riders and heart break for others. Rhys Budd and Lachlan Holroyd secured double championship wins in their respective classes. One of the closest championships being the Junior Lites 4-stroke class with only 2 points separating Lachlan Torpy and Dylan Wood going into the final round, whoever won the day would win the championship. Torpy won the first moto with Wood finishing 3^rd. In the 2^nd moto Wood was leading Torpy in 3^rd place and it looked like it was going to come to a showdown in the final moto, but disaster struck for Wood as he stalled the bike in a corner. Torpy went passed and took the win in moto 2, which meant he could cruise in 2^nd place in the final moto behind Wood and wrap up the title.
