DUCATI LAUNCHES ADVENTURE RIDING PROGRAMS

2 years ago | Words: Matt Holmes

Ducati launches its 2023 Ducati Rider Experience (DRE) ADV Academy and ADV Experience program.

Ducati Australia has launched its 2023 DRE Adventure Academy and Adventure Experience programs. Hot off the back of the international Ducati Rider Experience (DRE) Adventure Academy events, Aussies too can now partake in riding experiences designed to provide a taste of the Ducati adventure lifestyle on board the Italian band’s ADV models, including tuition from the Ducati Adventure Team.

The two-day Ducati Riding Experience (DRE) Adventure Academy – which takes owners and their own Ducati adventure models into an intensive training camp with instructor, Nick Selleck – is designed to improve riding skills and off-road confidence. Or there’s the option of a two-hour Adventure Experience test-ride program – which includes an in-depth, expert talk on the features and benefits of each model, followed by a 45-minute riding experience on-road and off. Whatever you choose, both experiences showcase the ADV characteristics of Ducati off-road models.

Ducati Australia and New Zealand Managing Director, Sergio Canovas, was clearly pleased to be entering another year of adventuring with Ducati. “We’re thrilled to be back full-throttle with a wide selection of adventures and experiences for our Ducatisti in 2023, after several years impacted by the pandemic,” Canovas explained. “Our Australian customers love nothing more than exploring the country on their Ducatis, and we can’t wait to empower them to journey even further. We are also pleased to once again host the Ducati Adventure Experience Series, where riders can test ride the complete range of Ducati adventure models.”

DRE ADVENTURE ACADEMY

These all-inclusive, intensive adventure ride and training camps are designed to test riders and discover the secrets of the adventuring world – from the right body position and most effective riding techniques, through to how to load pannier bags correctly and repair a damaged tyre on the trail.

Divided into two days, the first is dedicated to theoretical explanation and practice drills of technical exercises to gain confidence in off-road riding. The second day includes a tour on public roads with both on-road and off-road sections in real-world terrain.

The host venues will offer access to suitable riding terrain and an ideal location for a unique experience, combining the pleasure of great riding on the roads and trails with some sampling of local food and wine.

The cost of the program is $845 with lunch and dinner prepared with top-quality ingredients and dinner accompanied by a selection of locally produced wines. Accommodation is available on site at an additional cost – which Ducati can book for you, or you are free to make your own arrangements.

Dates & locations:

• April 16-17: Macedon Ranges, Vic.
• May 14-15: Hunter Valley, NSW
• May 28-29: Byron Bay, Northern NSW

DUCATI ADVENTURE EXPERIENCE SERIES

Part test-ride, part off-road tour, Ducati’s Adventure Experience Series is for those who want to experience the latest from Ducati, with customer rides available aboard Ducati’s Multistrada V2 and V4S, and of course the DesertX.

The two-hour test-ride program includes an in-depth, expert talk on the features and benefits of each model, followed by a ride experience of around 45 minutes on-road and off. The experience aims to highlight the differences between Ducati’s key adventure models, while also sharing expert knowledge on how to get the most out of both the bikes themselves and adventure touring – all, of course, under the watchful eye of Ducati’s experienced adventure guides.

Having done a Multistrada V4 Experience last year myself, I have to say it’s a great opportunity to experience the performance capabilities of the Ducati Adventure range in an environment that reveals the true character of the motorcycles both on-road and off-road. Sessions are limited, so don’t hesitate to satisfy your curiosity about the latest-model Multistrada V4, Multistrada V2 or DesertX. Book in, grab a mate, ride out there and jump on board!

Dates & locations:

  • April 14-15: Macedon Ranges, Vic.
  • May 12-13: Hunter Valley, NSW
  • May 26-27: Byron Bay, Northern NSW

Priced from RRP $40 (including GST) for up to two sessions per person. Bring your riding gear.
