Chad Reed confirmed for Outdoor season

TwoTwo Motorsports/BelRay Racing’s Chad Reed has confirmed he will be on the start line for this weekend’s opening round of the 2011 Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship – the Hangtown Motocross Classic in Sacramento.

After a successful comeback Supercross season in which he established his own team from scratch and came harrowingly close to securing his third World Supercross Championship, Reed will embark on a campaign to try and win a second outdoor title.

The Australian acknowledging today that contesting the AMA Pro Motocross Championship has been made possible due to increased support from TwoTwo Motorsports loyal sponsors, predominently Etnies, BelRay, Skull Candy and Shift, as well as additional support from American Honda, who will supply Reed with bikes and parts.

“I am very excited about doing the outdoors,” Reed said. Our first year of Supercross was awesome. We started behind the eight-ball but we got stronger and stronger as the season went on.

“We are starting the Motocross season in a much better position, we have momentum and it is our aim to carry that momentum through.

“Honda has increased their support and are supplying me with bikes and parts which is fantastic. We have done lots of testing and right from the get go I have felt very comfortable on the bike.

“I am having a blast,” Reed continued. “I am loving riding and enjoying being around the team. I am really looking forward to battling it out there each weekend and trying to win another outdoor title.”

Having won the event in 2010 Reed is looking forward to Sacramento’s Hangtown Motocross Classic which will open the 2011 Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship on Saturday 21st May.
