BROADFORD TO HOLD OPENING 2011 GRAND PRIX
Yet to be confirmed but rumor has it that Broadford could be holding the 1st round of the World Motocross Championships in 2011.
Sources have tied it in with the recent sponsorship from the Monster Energy Drink company and say that the season will start after the US Supercross season finishes in May allowing US riders to compete in both their Outdoor Series and the two or possibly three “yet to be scheduled” MXGP races set for America. As a result Monster Energy will more than likely demand their riders to race at these select events.
This doesn’t really come as a surprise as a recent interview between Geoff Meyer (MX Large) and our own Kevin Williams hinted at the fact saying, Motorcycling Australia had recently purchased the Broadford Circuit and was looking to bring a MXGP to Australia.
This starts the rumors rolling as to who will be Australia’s Monster Energy Team and will they be made to race the event. I’m thinking they’d be there with bell’s on (Or Arai’s if they have to wear them!).
