Back to back wins for Toby Price at Yamaha AORC

The opening rounds of the Yamaha Australian Off-Road Championship held at Port Macquarie (NSW) were a huge success at the weekend, with defending Yamaha AORC Champion Toby Price laying claim to the Outright and Yamaha Championship E2 class victories both days.

Price, of the Motorex KTM Team, won the Round Two Champ E2 class ahead of Stefan Merriman (Ballard’s Wellard Yamaha) and Jason Davis in similar conditions to Round One: deep ruts and mud.

“Over night showers made the conditions tricky today, but the club put in a great effort and made a really good Sprint track,” Price said.

“The day went really well and I came out with another win. It’s a great way to start the season and I will keep training as normal and charging on for the next round.”

Jarrod Bewley (Motorex KTM Team) came home second Outright, securing another win in GP Industries Championship E1, with Daniel Milner (Christensen’s), a newcomer to the Outright podium, securing third Outright and second in Champ E1.

It was a day for the young up-and-comers, with Ben Burrell of Ballard’s Wellard Yamaha finishing fourth Outright and third in Champ E1 in his second AORC Pro race.

Ben Grabham (Motorex KTM Team) cleaned up once again in the Pirelli Championship E3 class, taking the win ahead of Mitcham Harper and Geoff Braico.

Lachlan Stanford was the winner today in Polisport Expert E1, with Chris Cash taking out Endura Expert E2/E3.

In Motul Championship Women’s, Jemma Wilson took the win.

RK Chains Championship Veteran’s was taken out by Matt Dumigan, while Championship Master’s was won by Geoff Ballard.

Junior Outright was taken out by Dylan Hickling.

And in the clubman categories, Daniel Boucher won Clubman E1, Luke Parkes won Clubman E2/E3 and Clubman Veteran’s was won by Gary Tomlinson.
