Ferris gets points on the board in Bulgaria, first race back from injury
Australian motocross talent, Dean Ferris, has gained his first MX1 GP points of the season at Round 2 of the FIM Motocross World Championship held in Sevlievo, Bulgaria over the weekend.
Ferris missed the opening GP in Valkenswaard two weeks prior due to an elbow injury that required surgery, however Ferris was back behind the starting gate in Bulgaria, eager to make his 2012 MX1 debut.
In a class stacked with international stars, Ferris battled with arm-pump in Moto 1 but managed to gain a valuable championship point in 20th spot. But a change of bike settings for Moto 2 and a determined Ferris had the ICEONERACING rider improve his result for 15th on a fast and technical hillside circuit.
“It’s my first race back after the elbow injury so I’m pleased to have finished both motos with points and I now know where I stand with my speed and fitness,” said Ferris. “We also used the weekend to test some settings on the bike and we are moving in the right direction. The MX1 class is stacked and the pace is unbelievable but I know I can mix it up in the top ten. I’m looking forward to Fermo next weekend.”
