DUCATI 450 MX BIKE: A GUIDED TOUR

1 year ago | Words: Matt Holmes | Photos: Ducati Media House

We’ve read the specs, watched clips and been fed the press releases on Ducati’s new prototype motocross bike. So, what makes us sit up and really take note of the new MX bike from Italy? Motocross legend, Antonio Cairoli, taking us on an exclusive tour of the all-new Ducati Dwsmo450 MX, is what.

In this video, Cairoli explores every detail of Ducati’s new motocrosser – from its aggressive design and advanced tech to its factory Showa suspension and powerful Desmodromic engine.

Known for his dominance in the FIM Motocross World Championship with nine world titles (six of them won consecutively between 2009 and 2014, which places him second on the list of the most successful motocross riders in history), TC222 is no stranger to high-performance dirt bikes. So, it’s more than a little interesting to hear his take on what sets the Desmo450 MX apart from the rest of the pack. You can bet his championship-winning insights are playing huge part in the development of the production model, whose release is expected next year.

But will we see Tony Cairoli back at the Motocross of Nations aboard an Italian bike? You can imagine Ducati sure has their sights on that flag-flying prize!
