SERBIAN HARD ENDURO: WAR OF ATTRITION?
After the jaw dropping first round of the 2022 FIM World Hard Enduro season, the season is set to continue in more breath-taking terrain, this time in Serbia. With over 300 kilometres of riding in a long 4 days of racing, the stage is set for top class international riders to roll in. The race hub for racing is to be Zlatibor, and although it’s the first time Serbia has ever held a World Motorsport event, the Xcross Hard Enduro rally was established back in 2014 and has now grown to take riders into the Dinaric Alps.
The 4 days begin with an Enduro Style Straight Rythm to serve as prologue which no doubt will provide some top-level viewing. As usual, results from prologue are to produce the starting order for the first full day of racing.
Although a world championship, there are numerous hobby riders entered for the event and with over 100 kilometres of high altitude mountain riding to be completed on the second day, it will sure sort the men from the boys.
Things step up a bit when it comes to the third day of competition. Where the first of two 100-kilometre Hard Enduro days begin. These final two days of round 2 are sure to have the mountains leave their mark both on riders and their machines, where the race may become a battle of attrition rather than a race.
