Honda Muscle Milk’s Trey Canard and Star Valli Yamaha’s Ryan Morais were seriously injured at Round 3 of the AMA Supercross in Los Angeles after Morais landed on Canard during the opening lap of the main event.

In only his second race back from injury, Canard got a toughblock cover caught in his wheel and was unable to jump the first triple. The Yamaha rider landed on Canard’s head and the two riders went down hard and were knocked out.

Reports reveal Canard fractured his T10-T12 in his back, but hasn’t suffered any spinal damage. While Morais sustained broken ribs, three neck fractures, a broken jaw, a collapsed lung and a concussion.

Word is Morais had his jaw operated on earlier this morning and it’s now wired shut for eight weeks while Canard is waiting on a decision on doctors to operate.
