KTM’s Special Edition 890 Adv R Rally – Sold Out!

Last month, we got our first look at KTM’s all-new 890 Adventure R and its exclusive up-speeced brother, the 890 Adventure R Rally. This limited edition 890 Adventure R Rally – which is dripping with componentry that’s on par with the brand’s full-factory Rally machines – draws inspiration from KTM’s 450 Rally model and, according to KTM, will be available in just 700 units worldwide.

Well, perhaps that 700 units was too limited because the entire production run has just sold out in less than 48 hours via online pre-orders. And we’re hearing that hardcore adventure riders from Australia managed to snap up about 20% of the initially released 500 units (outside the 200 bikes allocated to USA and Canada). Those who successfully pre-ordered one of these 890 Adv R Rally machines were informed personally of the special machine’s RRP, but KTM is yet to make the model’s pricing public. Stay tuned for RRP announcements for all three versions of KTM’s new 890 (the Adventure, Adventure R, and Adventure R Rally), which appear set to replace 790-model counterparts.

“While some were disappointed in missing out on a chance to own one of these ultra-exclusive machines, those still interested needn’t give up hope just yet,” read the KTM PR about the 890 Adv R Rally model selling out. “A waiting list has been created online, which will allow interested buyers the chance to scoop a KTM 890 Adventure R Rally, should any previous reservation be cancelled.”
