KTM TEAM ON AN AUSENDURO TEAR!

2 weeks ago | Words: Andy Wigan | Photos: Foremost Media

From an individual rider perspective, Rounds 5 and 6 of the 2025 AusEnduro (Australian Enduro Championship) in South Australia might well be remembered for the breakout performances from Beta’s Jye Dickson (winning Sunday’s Sprint-format Outright) and Yamaha young gun, Will Dennett, who went 2-5 Outright and 2-3 in the E2 class over the weekend’s gruelling Cross-Country and Sprint format racing. But when you look at the weekend’s collective points haul from a team perspective, it was the powerhouse KTM DM31 Racing Team trio of Daniel Milner, Korey McMahon and Jonty Reynders who dominated proceedings and have each set themselves up very nicely indeed atop the E1, E2 and E3 classes’ points standings as they head into the back half of the 12-round season. Meantime, Milner’s lead in the Outright (Pro Enduro) standings has expanded to a commanding 28 points over Yamaha’s Wil Ruprecht, who had a weekend he’ll want to forget in South Oz.

Here’s the KTM team’s post-weekend PR that details their sweeping South Oz success…

KTM DM31 Racing Team rider Daniel Milner has extended his lead in both the Pro Enduro and E2 Class standings with a strong showing in Rounds 5 and 6 of the 2025 Australian Enduro Championship (AEC) in Tintinara, South Australia. After dominating Saturday’s Cross Country, Milner backed it up with second position Outright and another E2 victory in Sunday’s Sprint.

Teammates Korey McMahon and Jonte Reynders were also in strong form at the South Australian round, helping the KTM DM31 Racing Team sweep all three class wins across E1, E2, and E3 on Saturday. McMahon also landed on the Outright (Pro Enduro) podium in P3, while Reynders finished sixth at the conclusion of Round 5.

Sunday told a slightly different story, with McMahon taking P2 in E3 and P4 Outright, as Reynders was credited sixth place in E1 and P17 Outright. Piloting the KTM 450XC-F, Milner’s combined haul of consistent results across each round sees him extend his championship points lead in both the Pro Enduro category, as well as the E2 class, following Round 6 of 12.

Daniel Milner: “Rounds 5 and 6 went pretty well. We had a good day in Saturday’s Cross-Country, even though the start was a bit rough after I wasn’t told about a track change early on and dropped about five or six positions. From there, I just got fired up, charged hard all day, and managed to get myself to the front. Once I was there, I held a solid lead for the rest of the race. On Sunday, I tried to do the same in the Sprints, but just didn’t have the pace that Jye Dickson was running – he was riding well all day. I focused on staying consistent and avoiding mistakes, which I was able to do. I still got the class win, which I’m stoked about, and finished second Outright. Overall, it was a solid weekend for the team. Everything worked really well and it all ran smoothly. The bikes were faultless all weekend, so I’m happy with the result.”

Equipped with the KTM 500EXC-F, McMahon also proved he’s back to full fitness, delivering a standout performance across both days at Tintinara. He claimed the E3 class win and third Outright in Saturday’s Cross-Country, then backed it up with a solid second place in E3 during Sunday’s Sprint format, rounding out another consistent and competitive weekend for the KTM DM31 Racing Team.

Korey McMahon: “It was a brutal Cross-Country on Saturday, but our pace was there all day. I made a few mistakes early, but I’m happy with how it went otherwise. Today was going really good. I was battling in the top three Outright all day until the last two Sprints. I twisted my bad knee the wrong way, and it looks like I might’ve done something to it, but fingers crossed it’s okay. It was a tough way to end the day and the weekend, but P4 Outright is still not a horrible result.”

And in the E1 Class, KTM DM31 Racing Team’s Reynders was untouchable on Saturday, setting the standard once again in the category on his way to the class win onboard his KTM 250XC-F. Unfortunately, Sunday’s Sprints were impacted by Reynders’ off-track excursion, resulting in a five-minute penalty, which dropped him down the order and off the podium altogether.

Jonte Reynders: “The KTM 250XC-Fdid unreal in the Cross-Country – it didn’t miss a beat all weekend in the tough conditions. Saturday was awesome, when we were able to get the E1 win. The track was brutal out there, but the bike was working well all weekend long. Sunday wasn’t the result we wanted, and it was my misjudgment that cost us with the penalty there, but we’ll be back to get it done in the next rounds. Thank you to the team for working tirelessly – let’s rebound in Casterton!”

With Milner continuing to lead the charge and both McMahon and Reynders performing strongly across their respective classes, the KTM DM31 Racing Team remains firmly in contention as AusEnduro enters its second half of the 2025 season later this month. The next race is scheduled for June 28-29 in Casterton, Victoria.
