Beta’s World Enduro Line-Up

Beta Motorcycles has been making major inroads into the off-road segment’s market share in recent years. And there’s no doubt those gains have been underwritten by the Italian brand’s astounding success in the Enduro World Championship (EWC), where Brits Steve Holcombe and Brad Freeman have collectively won a total of nine world titles for Beta in the past three years. And in the process, they’ve helped Beta lock up the EWC’s premier-class (EnduroGP/Overall) title for the past three years on the trot!

Which is exactly the idea, right? A brand’s racing success translates into fast-tracked improvements in their production machines and more sales to the public. And with Beta’s recent announcement about its Factory Enduro Team rider line-up for the 2020 season – Steve Holcombe, Brad Freeman and Benjamin Herrera – there’s a very good chance that title-winning streak will continue.

After several years aboard his beloved RR300 two-stroke, five-time Enduro World Champion, Steve Holcombe, will move to the E2 class for 2020. Though whether he’ll race Beta’s RR250 two-stroke or RR350, RR390 or RR430 four-stroke (all of which are eligible for the E2 class) is yet to be divulged. After an amazing season in which he won both the E1 and EnduroGP classes, four-time world champ, Brad Freeman, will move from the Beta Boano Team to the Beta Factory Team for 2020, and compete in the E3 category for the first time.

These two Brits will be joined by Benjamin Herrera, who also extended his Beta deal for 2020 and will focus his racing energies on major hard enduro events. The 2020 season will be the first time that the Factory Team will participate in hard enduro events, both indoor and outdoor – a decision that Beta says, “…underlines its commitment to this discipline”.

The new team will have its debut during the first round of Assoluti d’Italia on March 1, continuing in April, and then on to the Enduro World Championship, which kicks off in Portugal in mid-April.
