Transmoto 8-Hour @ Mackay: On Sale Soon

Entries for the inaugural Transmoto 8-Hour at Mackay, powered by KTM, will go on sale late next week, with priority entry available 48 hours beforehand (**see below for details). So, that means it’s time to round up your mates, dust off your camping gear, get your bike and body and road trip plans in order, and clear your schedule for the last weekend of May (May 26-27).
You’ll need to get in quick when entries go on sale next week because, aside from the fact entries are strictly capped at 500, everyone who enters the inaugural Transmoto 8-Hour at Mackay automatically goes in the draw to win a new-model KTM*.

*YOUR CHANCE TO WIN A NEW KTM

Yep, you heard that right. Simply by entering the 2018 Transmoto 8-Hour at Mackay, you will automatically go in the draw to win your choice of any enduro or cross-country model from KTM’s 2018 range. A one-in-500 chance is pretty damn good odds, and somebody’s got to win!

WHAT CLASSES ARE AVAILABLE?

As with previous Transmoto 8-Hour events, there will be a limited number of entries for the Ironman and Pairs classes, but plenty of positions available in the Team class (you’ve got the option of entering as a team of three or four riders).

**PRIORITY ENTRY

Please note that the only way to receive priority entry is by joining Transmoto Tribe. Because the pool of previous Transmoto event entrants has become so large, the only fair way for us to now offer priority entry into our events is via Transmoto Tribe – our new membership program that gives members exclusive ongoing access to a bunch of awesome benefits and special offers.
So, aside from giving yourself (and your teammates) the best chance of scoring an entry for Mackay before the event sells out, joining Transmoto Tribe also entitles you to a Tribe Member Pack (which includes two T-shirts, a sticker pack, an iron-on Tribe patch, and a pair of Scott Recoil goggles for the first 200 sign-ups).

ENTRY FEES

Entry fees for Transmoto’s 8-Hour Enduro Events remain unchanged for 2018:

  • Ironman: $300
  • Pairs: $500 ($250 per rider)
  • Team (of 3): $675 ($225 per rider)
  • Team (of 4): $860 ($215 per rider)

THE COURSE AT MACKAY

If you’ve visited or ridden Gum Valley motocross track – which will serve as the pit area and admin hub for Mackay’s inaugural Transmoto 8-Hour – then you’ll know that it’s one of Australia’s most picturesque and iconic motocross circuits. Think America’s much-loved Red Bud track, except with towering gums instead of pine trees. What a lot of people don’t know is that Gum Valley’s moto track is surrounded by vast tracts of sugar cane plantations, wooded hills, and undulating grass paddocks, all of which have been cleverly incorporated into the custom-made 15km loop for the inaugural running of the Transmoto 8-Hour. That’s exactly why the 2011 Australian 4-Day Enduro (A4DE) – which was staged on the same private property, owned by former enduro racing legend, John Hand – will be remembered as one of the 40-year-old event’s best ever installments.

SPONSORSHIP ENQUIRIES

If you’re interested in sponsoring the 2018 Transmoto 8-Hour at Mackay, email events@transmoto.com.au for more information. Note that we only offer a guaranteed Team entry to event sponsors (an $860 entry is included FOC in the ‘Option #1’ sponsorship package).
