The first round of the Enduro GP World Championship was held this past weekend in the snow and cold of Finland. Sherco team rider Matthew Phillips had to face some extreme weather conditions in his quest for the 2018 championship.
Despite a complicated Saturday where Aussie Matthew Phillips suffered a loss of energy during the second half of the race, but recovered and raced very well on Sunday, finishing in a solid third place in the E2 class.
Matthew Phillips:ย โ€œI had one of the hardest days of my career yesterday. It was really cold in the morning, draining a lot my energy away. Today (Sunday), I’m a lot happier, even if I didnโ€™t have the best bike settings for this race, I felt more comfortable. I’m already looking forward to Round 2 in Spain.โ€
