🎥 Reed &/OR Dungey to Retire?
There’s no doubt season 2017 has been a frustrating one for Chad Reed. With stats that irrefutably confirm he’s one of the sport’s all-time greats, Reed’s sole AMA SX podium this year (way back at Round 3 in Phoenix) appears to be weighing heavily on his mind and prompting the 35-year-old, two-time AMA SX champ to question what lies ahead for him. But in last weekend’s interview supercrossonline.com’s Jim Holley, Reed not only conceded that, “This year’s been a disaster …. I need a better situation … I need to be better … I don’t want to do it any longer like this, that’s for damn sure!”; he also seems to fuel growing speculation that another multiple AMA SX champ, Ryan Dungey, will retire at the end of year, no matter how the 450SX title plays out this coming weekend in Las Vegas. If Dungey does nail the ‘threepeat’, and his fourth premier-class AMA SX title, some are even suggesting it’ll prompt RD to make an announcement about his retirement this weekend. In any case, with two of the three titles up for grabs at the season finale, there’ll be plenty of gambling on the outcome this weekend in Sin City. It promises to be a doozie!
