Roczen to Honda? Canard to KTM?

We’re currently three rounds into the 2016 Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship, and Ken Roczen has been almost perfect aboard his RCH Soaring Eagle/Jimmy John’s/Suzuki Factory Racing RM-Z450. He’s won five out of six motos, with two Overalls at the Hangtown Classic and Thunder Valley National, and if he continues to race at this level, he’ll more than comfortably secure his second 450 Class Outdoor title; his first under the guidance of Ricky Carmichael and Carey Hart at RCH. Could it be his first and last title aboard a yellow machine, though?

Transmoto‘s trusted sources in the USA tell us that Roczen is a done-deal with Team Honda HRC (who currently field Trey Canard and Cole Seely) for the 2017 Monster Energy AMA Supercross series and Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship. We’ve been told that Canard will jump ship and find a home alongside Ryan Dungey (who will miss the remainder of the 2016 Outdoor series) at Red Bull KTM (as Dean Wilson is likely to be dropped after being continuously injured for two years), while the defending two-time 250 Class Outdoor champ, Yamalube/Star Racing/Yamaha’s Jeremy Martin, will take up the seat left vacant by Roczen at RCH.

Roczen currently sits 29 points ahead of Monster Energy’s Eli Tomac in the 450 Class, while Martin sits three points behind Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki’s Joey Savatgy in the 250 Class. The High Point National (round four) will take place on Saturday, June 18.
