2023 FINANCE MY BIKE EAST COAST MX SERIES - FINAL ROUND

The Finance My Bike East Coast MX Series headed to Cessnock Motorcycle Club last weekend for the final round. All the stars aligned for the event, a fantastic track prep provided by the club, over 280 entries, the programs run like clockwork finishing by 3pm each day, and capped off with perfect weather to boot. In the junior classes, Stella Harding cleaned up on her Cobra 50cc beating all the boys for the overall round win in the 7-u9 50cc class, 3^rd in the 7-u9 50cc championship, as well as the FMB East Coast MX Junior Girls Champion. After securing the championship lead at Rd4 of the series in the 10-u12 65cc class, KTM rider Oli Chandler has not looked back taking the overall round win 1-2-1 finishes and championship win as well. The series win was up for grabs in the 9-u12 85cc class with Rafael Rossiter narrowly taking the championship over Husqvarna rider Liam Millard. Rossiter took out the first moto of the day but Millard was on a mission finishing with 2-1-1 scores to win the round and only 6 points shy of the championship.

In the senior classes KTM rider Connor Towill dominated all 4 motos to win the day but it was Josh Whitehead finishing 2^nd on the day that claimed gold in the MX1 championship. Honda riders Chris Couch and Cayden Gray have battled all year in the MX1 Clubman class, with Gray winning the final round, but Couch winning the series. Husqvarna rider Michael Jones capped off the series win in style at his home club, sweeping all 4 motos on the day to take the overall round and championship in the MX2 Clubman class.

Promoter Michel Constantinou commented, “What an awesome track we had for the final round, a massive effort put in by the Cessnock club committee, a great way to finish the series. I’m looking forward to the 2024 Finance My Bike East Coast MX Series, we’ll make some changes, improve where we can and come back even bigger next year.”
