2020 Transmoto 8-Hour at Coffs Harbour Postponed

4 years ago | Photos: Donat O'Kelly

We’d like nothing more than for the 2020 Transmoto 8-Hour at Coffs Harbour to go ahead as planned on April 4-5, and serve as a weekend-long, fun-filled distraction from the all-consuming news cycle about Coronavirus.

But the reality is that as event promoters, we understand the importance of complying with the regulations outlined by both state and federal governments for gatherings of more than 500 people, in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

And as a result, we’ve had no choice but to postpone the 2020 Transmoto 8-Hour at Coffs Harbour until the weekend of September 26-27, 2020.

So, what are your options as an existing Team, Pairs or Ironman entrant? You can either:

  • Do nothing, and your entry will be automatically transferred to the event’s new date (the benefit of which is that you’ll be assured of an entry and the opportunity to ride at this epic Ulong venue once restrictions are lifted); or
  • Have your team captain request via email to events@transmoto.com.au an entry fee refund* (including One Event Competition Licence (OECL) and/or Temporary Club Membership payments, where applicable).

It’s safe to say that everyone involved with the event – our operational partners, sponsors, officials and the super-supportive Ulong community – is bitterly disappointed with these developments.

If you want to get further up to speed with the government regulations and how it specifically affects motorcycle events, read Motorcycling Australia’s guidelines, which are outlined here.

Rest assured that when it comes to refunds, we’ll do the right thing by entrants who can’t make the revised date. Though we sincerely hope that a greater majority of you who scored a prized entry into the 2020 Transmoto 8-Hour at Coffs will be able to make it later in the year.

*NOTE: The refund will be processed immediately, but bear in mind that, with most banks, it can take up to five working days for the funds to appear in your account.
