🎥 2019 ECMX: Round 3 Highlights
Championship contenders secure their positions as the East Coast MX Series reached it midpoint in Port Macquarie last weekend for round 3. Honda riders Joel Wightman and Rhys Budd claimed the overall victories in the MX1 and MX2 classes. Budd was clinical in each race with start to finish victories. KTM rider Johnny Bova finished 2nd to Budd on the day but rose as the new points leader of the MX2 class.
Although Wightman had some issues in a couple races he remained consistent, and won 2 races to take over the points lead in MX1. KTM rider Hunter Collins swept all 3 motos on the 85cc and increased as his points lead in the 12-u16 85cc class. Hunter also consolidated his points lead in the 13-u15 125cc class championship by finishing 2nd on the day in the 125cc to Ryder Kingsford (Blu Cru Yamaha GYTR Junior Racing). KTM Australia rider Jess Moore continued her dominance of the Senior Women class winning all 3 motos and also rode in the MX2 class finishing 6th overall.
Promoter Michel Constantinou commented, “It’s always a pleasure coming to Port Macquarie, it’s a great venue. Thank you to all the competitors for their support of the East Coast MX Series, we look forward to seeing you in Dubbo for Rnd4.”
