🎥 2019 ECMX: Round 2 Recap and Video

7 years ago | Words: ECMX | Photos: MX Photos

A cracking weekend of racing at Rnd2 of the East Coast MX Series held in Maitland last weekend. Some of the best Pro riders including Hayden Mellross (KTM Australia) and MX Nationals points leaders Todd Waters (MX1 – DPH Husqvarna) and Jy Roberts (MX2 – KTM Australia). Waters and Mellross had epic battles every moto, sharing the victories with two wins and two 2nd places each, but Waters with the better finish in the final moto took the overall win for the event.

Former MX2 points leader Riley Dukes had a rough day and only completed 2 motos before going home early. Jy Roberts cleaned up the field in the MX2 class winning every moto, as well as a consistent 3rd in the MX1 class behind Waters and Melllross. Roberts now holds the points lead in both MX1 and MX2 classes. The Kingsford brothers (Blu Cru Yamaha GYTR Junior Racing) claimed the top spot on the podium in their respective classes, with Kayd Kingsford winning both 9-u12 65cc and 9-u12 85cc categories, and Ryder Kingsford winning the 12-u14 85cc age group. Promoter Michel Constantinou commented, “Each race day presents its own set of challenges but it was awesome to watch the racing that unfolded over the weekend, and in the end made it all worth it.”

Congratulations to the winners of Rnd2 East Coast MX in Maitland.
