2016 Transmoto 6-Hour Events

After running our sixth successful Transmoto 12-Hour at Batemans Bay in March, and the highly acclaimed Transmoto 8-Hour at Dargo in April, Transmoto now turns its attention towards the remaining two 6-Hour events which will take place in 2016; our first-ever Queensland-based event at Conondale on October 15-16, as well as our second event at Stroud, NSW, on November 5-6.

Yamaha Motor Australia will be the driving force behind both events, while the full list of event sponsors will be unveiled next week (when tickets go on sale and the official event websites containing all essential information are released). Rest assured that our passionate supporters are working hard to ensure all entrants receive great value for money, as always.

Should You Enter?

Have you heard good things about Transmoto events? Contemplating getting involved? Well, let us help get you across the line with a snapshot of benefits at our events:

  • The vibe of the things. Transmoto’s events sit somewhere between recreational trailrides and full-blown enduros. They’re all teams-based events, run in a relaxed but well-organised environment, and with an emphasis on fun, not officialdom.
  • Every Transmoto enduro event boasts a one-off, custom-made course that cannot be ridden the rest of the year. It goes without say that epic terrain is an absolute prerequisite for the venue.
  • They’re the perfect excuse to roadtrip, camp, share a few beers and race with your mates. Compare lap times. Blame your teammates if the team drops the ball; claim the accolades if the team kills it.
  • Value for money. In addition to your team’s race entry and transponder, all competitor’s entry fee includes: camping, parking, quality T-shirt, competitor showbag, and every chance there’ll be images and/or video footage of you splashed all over Transmoto’s digital magazine, website and social media channels. And, of course, you’ll have the chance to win a heap of other prizes and bootie handed out over the weekend.

Conondale’s Green Carpet

For most people, the mention of Conondale evokes thoughts of the Sunshine Coast’s verdant hinterland; of sweeping vistas of the Glasshouse Mountains to the south and Noosa Heads to the east. But if you’re into dirt bikes, the mention of Conondale also conjures up images of the township’s iconic natural terrain motocross track, Green Park – an undulating grasstrack that’s nestled in a picturesque valley and bordered by a pristine freshwater stream.

This infamous valley floor will serve as the camping and staging areas for the inaugural Transmoto 6-Hour, whose course will combine portions of Green Park’s grasstrack and 12km of trail that loops out onto the surrounding wooded hillsides. The course will include a few sections of the loop used for an AORC round way back in 2006, but – as is the case with all Transmoto events – a heap of all-new, fresh trail will be custom-built for the 6-Hour. Yep, time to get your froth on!

A Stroud Of Secrecy

Google “Stroud, NSW” and what do you get? A bunch of information about the town’s “International Brick and Rolling Pin Throwing Contest”. And that small-town obscurity is just the way the locals like it. Cos if they were to spread the word about the region’s rolling grassy hillsides, every dirt-bike dingo this side of Alice Springs would be on its doorstep in an instant.

Not far out of Stroud, in a remote little valley called Gunns Gully, it just so happens that Transmoto owns a particularly picturesque 1300-acre parcel of this prime countryside – a working cattle property that was home to the inaugural Transmoto 6-Hour in July, 2015. Its custom-built 12km loop takes in an intoxicating blend of gum-lined trails and undulating grasstrack with 360-degree views that stretch for miles – the perfect playground for a teams-based dirt-bike event.

For 2016, the Transmoto 6-Hour at Gunns Gully has been shifted to early November to give us the best chance of perfect conditions. So round up your mates, dust off the camping gear, and set the wheels in motion for a weekend worth of roadtripping and rad riding.
