YAMI RELEASES SPECIAL EDITION E-MTB

2 years ago | Words: Andy Wigan | Photos: YMA

Earlier this year, when Yamaha Motor Australia invited Transmoto along to the media launch for their all-new YDX Moro-07 pedal-assist eMTB, there was one thing we said they missed the mark with: the fact it didn’t come with a polished alloy frame. After all, this mountain bike was designed to mimic Yamaha’s dirt bikes (and specifically appeal to moto riders), so why not reinforce the point by giving its novel ‘Dual Twin’ alloy frame a cool, familiar-looking polished alloy finish? We’d pictured the thing sitting there right next to a WR-F or YZ-F on dealers’ floors.

Well, it looks like our wish has now been granted. To celebrate 30 years since the launch of Yamaha’s PAS (Power Assist System) electric motor, the Japanese giant – the only e-Bike manufacturer to offer its own motor and frame package – has just released a Special Edition YDX Moro-07 that comes with a polished aluminium frame, a commemorative 30th Anniversary metal badge, and special celebratory decals.

Looks trick, huh?! And at an RRP of $9099 (incl. GST), it’s only $100 dearer than its standard blue brother. No brainer!
