Verona: 2 More World Titles, 2 More Years With GASGAS
GASGAS has announced the signing of a two-year contract extension with 2022 Enduro1 World Champion, Andrea Verona. The super-fast Italian will continue to race for GASGAS Factory Racing in the FIM EnduroGP World Championship through to at least the close of the 2024 season!

From joining GASGAS Factory Racing at the beginning of the 2021 season, Verona has dominated the Enduro1 category on his GASGAS EC250F. Not only that, but the 23-year-old has also won back-to-back E1-class victories at the prestigious International Six Days Enduro (ISDE) – an incredible feat when up against the world’s best.

Success hasn’t just been confined to the E1 category, however. Claiming five podiums over the course of the 2021 season, Verona ultimately placed third Overall in the hotly contested EnduroGP class. Now, in 2022, the ever-smiling Italian has delivered an incredible season of consistent rides, claiming his first Overall EnduroGP day-win as well as a seriously impressive run of top-three Overall results, missing the podium just twice in 14 days of racing!
Heading into last weekend’s seventh and final round of the 2022 season in Germany, Verona led the EnduroGP standings by a substantial 28 points over his closest rival. Aiming to give his all as always, Verona set his sights firmly on putting in another super-strong ride and doing all he can to secure the 2022 EnduroGP crown.

And that’s exactly what the consistently super-fast and smooth Italian did in Germany, posting yet another dominant 1-1 result in the E1 class (his 13th Enduro1 day-win from 14 days racing this year), along with a conservative 5-3 in the Overall standings to wrap up the coveted EnduroGP title as well.
This guy is without doubt the fastest and most gracious enduro racer on the planet right now. And the scary thing is, he says he, “Still has some areas of my riding to work on”!

Andrea Verona: “This feels good! I’m super happy to be EnduroGP World Champion for myself but also the team. My goal was to win but I didn’t expect it to happen this year as I still have some areas of my riding to work on. But I was really consistent, and this is what won me the EnduroGP title. I was only off the podium two times all season, and this made all the difference. I have to say a huge thanks to GASGAS Factory Racing, all of the team sponsors, and everyone in Austria as this is a massive team effort. This is the biggest title to win in enduro and I believe I’m the first Italian to do it so … yeah, amazing. I think it may take a little while to sink in, but it’s been an amazing year and one that I won’t ever forget.”
