UNVEILED: 2023 KTM 300EXC ERZBERGRODEO
When KTM first released their TPI (Transfer Port Injected) fuel-injected two-strokes back in late 2017, they chose to stage the international media launch at the giant iron ore mine in Austria that’s used for the infamous Red Bull Erzbergrodeo for two reasons. One, this place has been synonymous with so much KTM two-stroke success over the years. And two, because its altitude (the ‘Iron Giant’ ascents from 800 to 1600m above sea-level) was the perfect way to reinforce the fact a fuel-injected two-stroke doesn’t need to be re-jetted. Before long, the 300EXC TPI was KTM’s biggest selling model in several markets around the world, Australia included.
All of which is why it made perfect sense to use the home of the Red Bull Erzbergrodeo (this week, while the 2022 event is in progress) to launch KTM’s 2023-model 300EXC Erzbergrodeo model. And what better way to do that than grab NZ’s Chris Birch and America’s Kailub Russell, and get these two KTM off-road stalwarts to race this fully fruited new 300cc two-stroke to the top of the Iron Giant?
Check out the boys’ white-knuckled Erzbergrodeo ascent is this cool video, and then drool at the list of special bits the 2023 KTM 300EXC Erzbergrodeo comes with.
