ABOUT THE Transmoto 8-Hour @ Coonabarabran
Sitting on the divide between the Central West and North West Slopes regions of NSW is the township of Coonabarabran, which (aside from being the Astronomy Capital of Australia and gateway to the infamous Warrumbungle National Park) is renowned for being home to the ‘Goanna Tracks’ complex and its world-class network of moto tracks and trails.
Since opening in 2011, Coona’s Goanna Tracks has played host to rounds of both the national motocross and off-road championships, before becoming a welcome addition to the Transmoto Enduro Events calendar in 2017. And with that inaugural 8-Hour at Coona selling out in less than 48 hours, it’s clear that we weren’t the only ones excited about the idea of a Transmoto event getting some ochre Outback soil between its toes!
This epic riding facility is located 450km northwest of Sydney; a 1600-acre property that features 65km of premium enduro loops, plus Junior and Senior motocross tracks, a sand track and a heap of dedicated trails and grasstrack – several sections of which are incorporated into the custom-built 15-20km loop that’s unique to each annual Transmoto 8-Hour at Coona.

THE ‘VIBE OF THE THING’
Rider etiquette has always been a big part of Transmoto’s events. We encourage good sportsmanship, care and courtesy towards other riders because we want everyone to have a good, positive experience – whether that’s on the track, in the camping area, or on the access roads leading to and from the event venue.
