SURF’S UP WITH POL ESPARGARO  

GASGAS Factory Racing’s MotoGP sensation, Pol Espargaro, touched down in Australia to gear up for the highly-anticipated Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix 2023, and he wasted no time diving into some adrenaline-pumping moto-action! Astride his custom-made GASGAS SM700, he took to the waves at Phillip Island on a cracking day.

Pol powered his way around the Island to navigate the picturesque landscape of the world-famous Victorian destination, weaving his way through the winding roads onboard his sharpened Supermoto weapon, screaming the capabilities to eat up that exact style of riding, and complete with a surfboard attached and ready for the glorious Aussie beaches. Did somebody say, FUN!?

The customised SM700 was built specific for Pol’s arrival at Phillip Island – the fantastic, small-town getaway where racing truly does meet the sea! – and pieced together by none other than Jack Field, Flair Riders Stunt Man and GASGAS Australia ambassador. Of course, Jack also played his part in arranging the surfboard and custom surfboard rack, too!

Pol Espargaro: “This is a great way to begin my journey here, with GASGAS Australia providing me a bike and a board to go hit the surf! The SM700 is such a great bike to go to the beach on because usually you need to take a lot of corners, and that style of riding is so much fun on a Supermoto bike – these really are the best bikes for that. Surfing is definitely not my best sport, but I absolutely love it, especially here at the beautiful Phillip Island, which has one of the best atmospheres on our whole calendar. Thank you GASGAS Australia for the ride – and the chance to surf ahead of this weekend’s action!”
