SC-PROJECT’S DESERTX RALLY RAID MUFFLER
If you’ve got a Ducati DesertX on order and feel the need to really give your new rig a bit of bling and unleash that signature roar, SC-Project (who supply exhausts for championship-winning MotoGP and WSBK teams) has you covered.
Evolved from the Rally Raid muffler that SC-Project produce for Yamaha’s Tenere, its design is aimed squarely at the multi-purpose DesertX. Built from titanium, TIG-welded with CNC’d internal bushings, its high-end construction is all in the name of lightweight, durability and on/off road performance. And all while compliant with the ever-tougher Euro-5 regulations!

At just 250mm long, it’s almost half the size and weight of the DesertX’s OEM exhaust, and comes with a claimed increase of 1.5hp and 1.2Nm of torque at 8200rpm. And with that bang-on looking end-cap, you can believe it’ll sound damn good too. Mounting-wise, it’s 100% plug and play; just slip it on and tighten up.
Should you want a tad more power and shed even more weight, SC-Project also offers a racing pipe link specifically developed for the DesertX and allows the removal of the original catalytic converter. The combination of muffler with racing link pipe drops a massive 5.1kg off the OEM pipe/muffler and produces big power and torque gains (+2.8hp and +2.2 Nm at 8500rpm). But even more important is the stable and consistent improvement in power delivery it produces from low in the rev range all the way through to maximum RPM. SC-Project suggests an ECU re-map for the full benefits to be felt.
The slip-on SC-Project muffler goes for $1230 AUD, and $830 AUD for the de-cat pipe link. WA-based SC-Project Oceania offers free shipping in Australia.
