Robbie Marshall Soars at Red Bull XRay

Northstar Yamaha’s Robbie Marshall completed a successful weekend winning the Speed and Style event at the high profile Red- Bull X Ray event held at Picton, NSW on the weekend.

In front of a huge crowd, the rolling grass hills of Picton were transformed into a moto heaven that pitted the world best freestyle riders against Australia’s top motocross riders in an event that must be seen to be believed.

Marshall, who had just wrapped up filming for an upcoming movie, drove into Picton looking for a good time and to enjoy the weekend riding with his mates, ended up leaving with a total of $5500 in prize money after winning the prestigious Speed and Style race and also posting fifth in the FMX competition.

“I am pumped to win out here today, Marshall said excitedly. You never know how these things will work out as they are a combination of judging and racing so I just went out and had a good time riding on some insane jumps.”

“Because the jumps were so big and I have never done any flips over gaps like that, I concentrated on doing all my other tricks really well and I guess it was good enough to get the job done.”

“But to win is awesome and then to come fifth in the FMX competition behind the best guys going around is also pretty cool. It has been a great weekend,” Marshall signs off.

The Speed and Style event is staged like a race where the riders’ line up on a jump filled course and charge to the end. Points are given to the rider based on the tricks they before during the event and combined with their race finish to give an overall result.

The Red-Bull X Ray event is the brain child of Australia’s greatest thrill seeker, Robbie Madison and has become an annual event that continues to grow by the year. The free admission and high quality rider it attracts always fills the hills with thousands of spectators and the 2010 event was the biggest yet.
