Robbie Maddison confirms world first ‘drop in’ for Sydney finale

Crusty Demons Australian daredevil, Robbie Maddison, has confirmed he will attempt the world’s first indoor drop-in on a motorcycle at the Thirst 4 Destruction Tour finale at Acer Arena on Saturday November 27.

Maddison, who cut off his cast to take part in the Brisbane show last weekend, has been undergoing extensive treatment for a wrist injury, which has prevented him from riding up until now.

The drop-in pays homage to Maddison’s incredible record-breaking New Year’s Eve stunt where he jumped 37 metres to land on top of a replica of the Arc de Triomphe before free-falling to a landing ramp.

Confirming the Sydney show will be the only place he attempts the death-defying drop-in, Maddison said he can’t wait to finally do the stunt on home soil.

“I am stoked to be putting my all-time gnarliest stunt into a live show,” Maddison said.

“When I joined the tour I wanted to bring something new to the fold and now I am finally getting to do it in Sydney.

“While the drop is scaled down slightly to fit indoors, it is the same odds and I haven’t attempted anything like it since Vegas in 2008.

“I will be doing this one full Evel Knievel style – throwing it all on the line and just doing it on the night,” he concluded.

The incredible stunt will see Maddison drop 20m from a suspended platform down to the floor.

Maddison is joined by FMX icons including Mike Metger, Seth Enslow, Adam Jones, Mike Mason, Adam Jones, Beau Bamburg and Taka Higashino.

The Aussie contingent is just as solid, with Jackson Strong, Kain Saul, Emma McFerran, Steve Mini, Matt Schubring, Joel Balchin and more taking part in the national five-stop tour.

The phenomenal arena show is also the only place to see Jackson Strong’s front-flip attempt and Kain Saul’s amazing Harley Davidson back-flip.
