NEW PRODUCT: SCOTT PROSPECT AMPLIFIER GOGGLE

4 years ago | Words: Andy Wigan | Photos: Scott Sports

First released in 2017, the Prospect goggle was a game-changer for Scott, which has been at the forefront of action sport goggle design for more than 50 years. With a massive field of vision, a slick lens lock system, articulated outrigger arms, and top-shelf three-layer moulded face foam, it represented a big step up from its predecessors and has sold like mad ever since.

But that didn’t prevent Scott throwing more R&D at the product. In the past few years, the Prospect has come in for several face foam upgrades, plus the introduction of a few signature models and special lenses. The latest iteration of the Prospect, however, takes things to an all-new level by introducing a pre-curved, 1mm-thick, injection-moulded polycarbonate lens for the first time (previously, the only pre-curved Prospect lenses were dual-layer) and the Amplifier contrast-enhancing lens technology that’s proved itself on Scott’s snow goggles for a few years now. The philosophy is simple: Improve the contrast in what a rider sees, and you’ll improve that rider’s confidence.

According to Scott’s Australian distributors, Ficeda Accessories, the Prospect Amplifier will be available in Oz from September in two frame colours (blue/white and marble black/white), which can be paired with two lens options (Rose Works and Gold Chrome Works) for a total of four variations.

The Amplifier’s RRP is $159.95. That’s $10 more than the standard Prospect, but on par with the specialist-lens Prospect models, such as Light Sensitive and Enduro.

Want more? Here is Scott’s detailed insight into the design and claimed benefits of the new Prospect Amplifier goggle, along with some glowing feedback from their test riders and athletes…

The best just got better! The new Scott Prospect Amplifier Goggle not only defends, but also amplifies your vision while riding. The advanced pre-curved lenses are injection-molded to provide greatly improved contrast and optical clarity, allowing you to see contours and transitions in the terrain in ultra-high definition.

The best just got better! The new Scott Prospect Amplifier Goggle not only defends, but also amplifies your vision while riding. The advanced pre-curved lenses are injection-moulded to provide greatly improved contrast and optical clarity, allowing you to see contours and transitions in the terrain in ultra-high definition.

With over 50 years of experience producing market-leading goggles for the motocross and off-road market, the engineers at Scott have taken off-road optical performance to the next level with the Prospect Amplifier Goggle.

Scott sets the industry standard for contrast enhancing optics with its patented Amplifier lens technology. The secret to Amplifier technology is its ability to add contrast while increasing clarity and definition in all racing conditions.

The Scott Amplifier tint is designed to let through some specific colors to your eye while filtering out others, in order to create a high contrast within the terrain you are looking at. Through years of research, we have learnt that our eyes are better at perceiving certain wavelengths than others. By controlling what is let through the Amplifier lens, we can control how the external environment is perceived.

The main benefits of this technology:

  • Allows you to see contours, ruts and transitions in the dirt in ultra-high definition.
  • Works for motocross, enduro, rally and everything in between.
  • Builds rider speed and confidence through improved visual clarity.

With other perfected features – such as the NoSweat face foam, a maximum field of vision, the innovative Scott Lens Lock System, articulating outriggers and much more, the super-stylish Scott Prospect Amplifier Goggle has been engineered to Defend Your Vision no matter how extreme the conditions get.

ACCORDING TO TEST RIDERS & ATHLETES…

Louis Bradier – Scott Chief Engineer: “Capitalising on our contrast-enhancing technology patented for more than two decades, we were able to optimise Amplifier vision for the MX world, thanks to the accuracy of injection molding. These lenses still come with the usual Scott performance for anti-fog and impact-resistance technologies.”

Jason Anderson – 2018 AMA 450SX Champion: “The Amplifier lenses are simply next-level. It’s like riding in 4K!”

Jorge Prado – 2019 FIM MX2 World Champion: “The lens is very, very good. You see everything so much clearer. It’s not so easy to explain but the performance of the Amplifier is outstanding. I love it!”

Brad Freeman – 2019 FIM EnduroGP World Champion: “I felt the AMP difference immediately when trying the goggles – above all, in shadows and hard light areas. It did an awesome job of helping objects like rocks and roots stand out more and made my vision clearer and more clarified. They’ll definitely be staying in my goggle bag for future races!”
