Nathan Woods, R.I.P
It’s with much sadness that we confirm WORCS rider Nathan Woods passed away earlier today due to injuries received in a practice accident while preparing for this weekend’s opening round of the 2011 WORCS Pro1 Series to be held at Honolulu Raceway Taft, California.
It has been reported that the newly signed Carbon Raptor Stillwell Performance racing team rider was airlifted to hospital after crashing heavily on the motocross section of the track. He was pronounced dead on arrival to the hospital.
The 32-year-old from Paso Robles leaves behind his wife Amanda and their two sons Nate and Braxton.
Our thoughts and deepest sympathies go out to his family and friends.
The following are Facebook comments made earlier today by his newly signed team:

So many of you are asking for info on what happened.
Here is what we know: Nate crashed very hard and it appeared he hit his head pretty hard, as well as possibly taking a handlebar to the ribs. Kurt Caselli and I were there on the track with him and Nathan was awake but out of it. He went unconscious about the time EMT’s got there.
