MANI’S HISTORIC ERZBERGRODEO WIN
What a feelgood story it was for KTM’s Manuel “Mani” Lettenbichler at last weekend’s 26th edition of the Red Bull Erzbergrodeo – widely regarded as the toughest one-day hard enduro in the world. After becoming the event’s youngest ever finisher when he first competed in the event in 2014, the likeable German’s 2022 win was not only his first at the event, but it also marked the first father and son duo to win the iconic race (Mani’s old man, Andreas, was a joint winner back in 2015). With Mani winning on the all-conquering KTM 300EXC this year, it marked KTM’s 19th Erzbergrodeo victory (the first coming thanks to the efforts of KTM-mounted South African, Alfie Cox, in 1995). It was Mani’s second consecutive FIM Hard Enduro World Championship victory since his return from knee surgery at Round 2. He now lies third Overall, trailing the championship leader by just five points.

The next round of the FIM Hard Enduro World Championship will be Red Bull Abestone in Italy on July 9-10.
