MADDY BROWN CROWNED 2015 CHAMP

The final round of the Yamaha Australian Women’s Motocross Championship was run at the Nowra Motoplex yesterday, with new faces on the overall round podium, as well as an Australian title awarded to this year’s female champion, Maddy Brown.

With the return of Kawasaki Australia’s Meghan Rutledge at Nowra, results were set to be shaken up, and with a championship on the line, every point proved to be critical.
When the chequered flag flew with two race wins, Rutledge took a clean sweep, and secured the round win at Nowra ahead of Brown, followed by Jones who completed the round overall in third.

However, with Rutledge out of the chase for the title due to missing the first round of the Women’s Championship, second place for the round proved to be more than enough for DPH’s Maddy Brown to take her second consecutive Australian title.
Yamaha’s Jones collected second in the championship, while fellow Yamaha mounted rider Emelie Karlsson claimed third in the 2015 Yamaha Australian Women’s Motocross Championship.

“It’s an awesome feeling backing it up two years in a row and I really couldn’t be happier.” — Maddy Brown.

“The competition overseas for the women is really good, and I had the best experience over there and I’m very thankful to everyone who got me there, because it has definitely made a difference to my results here in Australia.”  — Maddy Brown.
