EAST COAST MX RECAP – ROUND 2

3 years ago | Words: East Coast MX | Photos: Blitzed Images

The rescheduled Round 2 of the Finance My Bike East Coast MX was held at Nowra Motoplex a few weeks ago. The sunshine and some dust was welcomed by the competitors, a drastic change from the wet weather that has plagued the previous rounds. Matt Moss dominated the MX Open class on his Yamaha winning all four motos from start to finish. Even with a DNF in race one, KTM rider Dylan Wood he still finished top three in the remaining races and holds a substantial points lead in both the MX Open and 450 Pro class championships.

With the 30-39 Vets, +40 Vets and Senior Women all combined in the same race, Nathan Brochtrup(at 43 years of age)showed everyone who’s boss by winning every race as well as racing back to back races in the MX Open class. He now leads the points in the +40 Vets and is sixth outright in the MX Open class championship. In the younger divisions, Cobra Kye Sproule was unchallenged and cleaned up in both classes, sweeping all 3 motos in the 7-8 50cc and then also on his GasGas 65cc in the 7-8 65cc.

Promoter Michel Constantinou commented, “Finally some dry weather, our East Coast team has certainly been tested the last couple years. I’m just so grateful that we have got through this and the support from the competitors, and could not have done it without the team behind me.”

The next round of the Finance My Bike East Coast MX heads to Dunedoo on July 30-31.

Congratulations to the winners of the Finance My Bike East Coast MX at Nowra Motoplex.
