DUCATI’S DESERTX … A RALLY VARIANT FOR 2024?
After the off-road success of the DesertX in the hands of Antoine Meo and Jordan Graham, it was only a matter of time until a beefed up DesertX shipped direct from the factory. And by all accounts, It’ll be a ‘Rally’ variant and is due in 2024.
Of course, all this is if we’re to believe motorcycle.com over in the US finding a filing with California that lists a Rally variant of the DesertX for 2024. This filing certifies the engine size and emissions of each model prior to the bikes making their way to the state.
With no other info other than 937cc and a Rally variant listed (and being that the DesertX was already a pretty sorted proposition in standard trim), we can only guess that the Rally will comes with a bunch of added accessories. Think crash protection in the form of the bigger engine guard plus the crash bars. Throw on the Termignoni racing exhaust system and the rally seat, plus probably that sweet tail-mounted auxiliary tank, and you’d have a very well specced DesertX off the showroom floor.
While you can configure that exact bike right now, we’re thinking an increase in travel front and rear is a possibility off the back of Antoine Meo’s Erzberg set-up, plus if they give it the brushed metal/red/black treatment like the Multi Rally, it’ll be looking damn good. In the meantime, we’ll just have to play with the configurator and wait until Spring when Ducati start their 2024 premieres! Till then, enjoy some epic twin action from the ErzbergRodeo and the Biltwell100…
