DESERTX PERFORMANCE UPGRADES FROM TERMIGNONI

2 years ago | Words: Matt Holmes | Photos: Ducati Media House

To make the DesertX sound as good as it looks, Ducati is offering two factory options that take the 973cc Testastretta’s renowned rumble to an all-new level. Now available are the Termignoni-built titanium silencer and their complete racing exhaust system, which reduces weight and improves the performance through dedicated mapping and a weight-loss diet.

SLIP-ON TERMI SILENCER

Lighter than stock (thanks to a carbon fibre end-cap) and lined internally with titanium, this slip-on been developed to unleash all the wild ponies stashed inside of the DesertX. Manufactured in collaboration with Termignoni, it delivers the goods in both looks and exhaust note, plus a nice little performance boost to boot!

RRP: $3049

RACING EXHAUST (FULL SYSTEM)

Termignoni has combined all their podium-getting expertise into the DesertX Racing Exhaust System, complete with titanium liner and end-cap. The dedicated map maximises power and performance, delivering that signature Ducati growl from idle through to redline. Gains in max torque and power sit in the realm of 7%, plus a 2.5kg reduction in weight means you’ll have more tractable power at your disposal wherever you point it. Apparently aimed at ‘racing only’, but we’re sure more than a few will bolt on to prospective DesertX owners rides here in Oz. Racing includes to the Oodnadatta Pub, right?

RRP: $4356

Both options are available specced straight onto your new DesertX. To make it happen, hit up Ducati’s drool-inspiring bike configurator. Or better yet, go see it all in the flesh at one of Ducati’s flagship stores or growing dealer base Australia-wide.
