Brad Anderson claims victory at the Manjimup 15,000

Carlton Dry Honda Thor Racing’s Brad Anderson has dominated the Manjimup 15,000, claiming his second overall victory at the iconic West Australian event.

A gallery of the event is now online.

When the gates dropped for Moto 1, it was Kristan Whatley who got the holeshot from Jake Moss, who then made the most of his position to establish a commanding lead in the first moto. Favourite, Brad Anderson, got a poor start and had to make his way forward through the pack. He fought back and made a passing move on the two leaders to take the lead. Once out in front he stamped his authority on the race and ran out a comfortable winner from Moss and Whatley. Dean Porter was back in fourth place with Mosig fifth.

In the second moto Jake Moss got the holeshot from Dean Porter and 2012 Tumbulgum winner, Luke Davis. While Brad Anderson had another bad start and was back in eighth. Moss continued to dominate the moto and managed to hold off Anderson, Whatley and Mosig.

With two pour starts, Anderson revelled in the challenge and came back to win Moto 3 and 4, as the featured shootout race.

“It was a great experience and I am absolutely stoked to have won the event for a second time,” Anderson said. “The track definitely roughed up throughout the day which made it quite challenging. I didn’t get the best start in the first race but I managed to come through and take the win. My start in Race 2 was terrible and I ended up second to Mossy (Jake Moss). In terms of race preparation ahead of the next round of the MX Nationals, this was the perfect event for me to do and definitely worth coming to. With four sprint race all around the same length as the back-back races at the Nationals I got the chance to really work on my arm-pump issues. While I can’t say it is cured, it was definitely a lot better today.”

With Jake Moss finishing second to Anderson at the Manjimup 15,000, Honda claimed the top two steps of the dais.
