Boundaries – Metal Mulisha
Boundaries – it’s the best noun to describe the Metal Mulisha and their impact on the sport of Freestyle Motocross since its inception. From being one of the founding fathers if you will of the FMX movement to landing the first-ever 360 in competition (Brian Deegan – 2003 Summer X Games), The Metal Mulisha has pushed the boundaries of FMX further than anyone. And now it is the Mulisha’s Jimmy Fitzpatrick who is out to once again push the boundaries of FMX even further.
Heading into the 2010 season, Fitzpatrick was focused on nailing the double backflip at X Games 16 this summer, however, Fitz has since had a slight change of heart and is now focused on a trick he feels has less consequences: the frontflip. That’s right, Fitz is determined to be the first rider to successfully land the frontflip in competition and has been spending a lot of time in the foam pit dialing in this trick. As if that wasn’t enough, the California native told us that his ultimate goal is to make this a trick that can be completed in a standard 90-second freestyle run.
To help Fitzpatrick gain more comfort with the frontflip, he enlisted his longtime suspension sponsor, RG3 Suspension, to spend a few days testing with him and see what they could come up with. So sit back and check out a few days of testing with Fizpatrick and RG3 as they dial in the frontflip and head towards X Games 16 Moto X Best Trick.
