BIKE BUILD: CHAD REED’S KTM 450SX-F SX WEAPON
As excitement builds for the opening round of the FIM World Supercross Championship in a month’s time in Cardiff, Wales, so too is the anticipation of Aussie race fans to see 40-year-old Chad Reed line up on a professional supercross gate once again – the first time since the two-time AMA SX champ retired in 2020.
Having already given us a candid insight into his SX training secrets, Chad’s prolific vlog, The Reeds, has recently dropped an edit that gives us a revealing insight into his race bike’s componentry, performance enhancements and set-up tricks, along with the SX training track that’s concurrently under construction.
As Reedy freely admits, getting back into shape to race supercross at the elite level has “required an adjustment to his lifestyle” (particularly because of the brutally hot weather America’s summer has seen this year), but he’s also genuinely excited for the opportunity to be part of this year’s historic FIM World Supercross Championship.
