2019 AORC: Outright Update, After Rd 7

7 years ago | Words: Andy Wigan | Photos: John Pearson Media

With Daniel Milner, Daniel Sanders, Luke Styke and Kyron Bacon all holding commanding leads in their classes (E3, E2, E1, and EJ, respectively), much of the focus for the 2019 Yamaha Australian Off-Road Championship has shifted to the inter-class battle for supremacy in the country’s premier off-road series, the Outright, as the series heads into its eighth round at Coonalpyn, SA on Aug 30-Sept 1.
Sadly, as you probably know by now, the AORC’s organising committee continues to withhold the Outright points and standings information. Which is why we’ll continue to quench everyone’s thirst by making that information public.
Here’s how the Outright points standings look after seven of the 2019 Yamaha Australian Off-Road Championship’s (AORC) 11 rounds. And as you can see, it’s developing into one hell of a tussle at the top of the table for the series’ coveted Outright honours.
After Rd 6, Milner and Sanders were even on 141 points, but after Sanders’ win at Broken Hill, he now takes the lead (albeit by a meagre three points).

It was a dominant performance for Daniel Sanders at Broken Hill’s seventh round of the 2019 Australian Off-Road Championship (AORC), topping Saturday’s prologue and winning today’s Cross Country.
The lone desert race in the AORC series contested in dry, dusty conditions, Sanders was unstoppable. He was victorious in the E3 division and fastest of all outright by a comfortable margin. Sanders posted a 5m18.006s lap-time in the prologue before he led the field away on Sunday and was never headed, completing nine laps in a total time of 3h27m58.853s. The Victorian continues to lead the E3 championship, and the Outright, with four rounds remaining.

Fans can keep up-to-date with all the action from the series via Facebook and Instagram, and the AORC’s dedicated website: AORC.org.au
